Awesome on so many levels. That should be airbrushed on the side of a van, which would be really meta-, because she's on the hood of a car.
Glad to see she's embracing her warrior spirit. And showin' some leg too...
Seriously though, i need to hear this thing.

What a voice she has. What a nipple, too. I see her nipple. A few years back she was playing the Metro here in town - I was walking south down Clark St and she was walking North, a guitar case in each hand balanced like a scale. I actually turned around & walked backwards to watch her denim-clad ass & she, too, turned around and caught me dead in the act and smiled. Got any photos of her other nipple? I bet it looks similar.

It is beyond awesome that she smiled back. Any girl that would have the above artwork adorning her album would smile back. Rad.

I guess this is as good an occasion as any to see if anyone has links to that nude photo shoot she did for that now-defunct Kutie magazine (I think all the above photos are from that set). The only ones I've been able to find online are pretty lo-res.

The talking thing got me annoyed, yeah. Espescially the three millionth pitch for some puppy at the Uptown Animal Shelter. I definately wasn't expecting a rocking good party time, but it was just pretty damn boring. Was disappointed.

Man, LOVED her at the Park West, I think it was two years ago. One of the best vocal displays I've ever witnessed.
Oh yeah, I guess I'm supposed to say she's hot or something.
She has one of the best voices I have ever heard.
Her looks are pretty average.
Great album cover.

i got to see a lot of neko for a down year for her. saw the pornographers for my 3rd time and she was with them, my first exposure to her on stage. then i got to see her solo later in the year and that was one of the top 5 sets i saw all year. just a masterful, masterful artist.
i'm thrilled for this record and am also really fucking straight for neko case. i honestly don't know if i think she's quite the knockout that everyone else makes her out to be, although she's definitely a looker. but that voice and those songs are enough to make me plenty weak in the knees.

It's the least I can do to thank you for all that Outkast:
http://www.zshare.net/download/52234407b6dbc69a/I vowed last year, or earlier this year, or whatever, to not see the New Pornos again unless either her or Bejar was with them. Saw her with them (and solo) at Hideout Block Party, and it made all the difference. Great sets, both.

Yeah, she hasn't been in HP for a couple years now at least. Still sometimes get mass mail addressed to her though, which makes me laugh. (Live in the same building, but she had moved out before I moved in)
I thought Fox was great, but pretty much agree with you solace. I'm also leaning toward enjoying her records a lot more than seeing her live these days. Kind of miss when it was just her, Rahouse and Tom Ray onstage, but the new songs need the extra instruments to get fully fleshed out. Still though, her voice gets me everytime.

What? I didn't even know she had a new album coming out. Awesome. When?
If you opened my awesome thread from a day or two ago on Atease about "Star Witness" you would have known!
Albums in the near future from Neko, M Ward, Andrew Bird & AC Newman it's a pretty exciting looking start to '09. I'm even excited about the new Animal Collective, even though I really don't ever want to listen to them anymore except for "Winter's Love", "Loch Raven" and "Banshee Beat".
We also have a new Springsteen album that I wasn't excited for until I heard "The Wrestler", which is probably his best song since
Tom Joad.
Also, in relation to this thread, "Star Witness" is not only Neko's best; it is one of the best songs of the decade and up there with ANY song of all time. Seriously. As much as I love the rest of her work there is nothing within 500 miles of that song in her catalog (that I've heard at least).
Top 5 Neko Songs (solo only):
1. Star Witness
2. Hold On, Hold On
3. Deep Red Bells
4. Knock Loud
5. I Wish I Was the Moon

and testament of youth in verse and all for swinging you around and every other song on the record. so, so good. i feel about twin cinema how most people seem to feel about challengers. it's better than most else out there, but most of the songs just aren't that great. the drumming is awesome, as is the entirety of bleeding heart show, but on the whole it drags a little.
challengers, i still maintain, is wonderfully autumnal. it's definitely more subdued than the rest of their catalog, but the songs strike deep. it also flows better than the majority of their other records (as in, it feels like an album, not a greatest hits collection). and the spirit of giving is a really epic closer. mass romantic is great. sugar rush. so much that my head hurts by the end of the album.
