So this Abe Vigoda
Skeleton disc is pretty snazzy, ain't it?
Here's a link to downlaod it for those who want to download it (it's not my link)

If you're in to No Age, High Places, et cetera, you'll dig this.
I think it's definitely one of the best discs of 08 and probably the best of this new group of rock and roll bands coming out that all seem to be friends with each other and stuff.

I enjoy it.
Need to listen to it more though to form a decent opinion on it.

Yeah, they keep getting mentioned with No Age, who put out my favorite record this year, so I'll be needing to look into Skeletons eventually.

If you're in to No Age, High Places, et cetera

High Places and Abe Vigoda are playing a post-Pitchfork show on Saturday night at Schubas. I'll be there. Of course, it's the exact same time as the King Khan/Jay Reatard show at the Bottom Lounge. I won't be there.

Abe Vigoda? Doesn't this belong in the Fish thread?

really like this record as well.
they're opening for Jay Reatard here next week (and that show is a double header, No Age plays before that bill at the same venue), can't wait.

What? No, this album surpasses the amount of responses in this thread. Good, good shit. I'll probably play it once or twice in my car and listen to it for five minutes or so a month for two months though. But that's life.

No songs + melodramatic vocals + pop culture reference band name - gravel roads =
http://soundopinions.org/forum/index.php?s...=16018&st=0(I kinda liked this on first listen. It may grow or annoy the crap out of me. But I'll defer until I see 'em live.)

I was hemming and hawing about making the two-hour drive to Montreal tomorrow night to see these guys with No Age and High Places, but after listening to the album and seeing Boris last night and Monotonix Wednesday night, I've decided to stay home and watch the All-Star game.

this isn't really growing on me... kind of like a more boring Pele crossed with a more boring Spent.

Pitchfork's unnecessary boners over their existence?

I love this album. Sorta like a cross between El Guincho and No Age.
Awesome stuff. Sure, it's not necessarily all that catchy but whatever.
I'm also the only person here who likes HEALTH, so maybe that's saying something.

I am enjoying this.
The connection mentioned with No AGe etc up thread is they all play at The Smell.

I saw these chaps live a few months back. The noise was so loud it was hard to distinguish anything they sang, or played for that matter. It was a good show actually.
And then Diplo came on and ruined the night.
Pretty fun band.

Abe's family needs to receive royalites from the snot-nosed kids who named themselves after Fish.
